What information can I get from an IP lookup?

An IP lookup reveals the approximate country, region, and city associated with an IP address, along with the ISP (internet service provider), organization, timezone, and rough GPS coordinates. It does not reveal a person's name, exact home address, or contact details.

Can I find someone's exact address from their IP?

No. IP geolocation is only accurate to city level, and often maps to the ISP's regional office rather than the actual user. Getting a real street address requires a legal warrant served to the ISP — no public tool can do this.

Is IP lookup legal?

What's the difference between IPv4 and IPv6?
