Calculate what the temperature really feels like
The wind chill formula used by the National Weather Service:
Wind Chill (°F) = 35.74 + 0.6215T - 35.75(V^0.16) + 0.4275T(V^0.16)
Where T = Air Temperature (°F) and V = Wind Speed (mph)
Wind chill (or "feels like" temperature) measures how cold it actually feels when wind is factored in. Wind increases heat loss from exposed skin, making the air feel colder than the actual temperature reading.
Dress appropriately for actual conditions, not just temperature.
Know when exposed skin is at risk of frostbite.
Plan skiing, snowboarding, and outdoor activities safely.
Protect outdoor workers from cold-related injuries.
Input the current air temperature in ?F or ?C.
Adjust the wind speed in mph or km/h.
